A Battle of the Bands event, organised by an entrepreneurial group of Sixth Form students, is to take place at Sandown Bay Academy next month.
As part of the Young Enterprise Scheme, a 9-strong group of 16 to 17-year-old Sixth Form students have set up a business called ‘WightBright’. By taking part in the scheme, the individuals are showcasing their business skills to help set them apart from other applicants for University placements.
The music showdown, which is promising to be a night of live entertainment featuring bands from around the Island, is to take place on 23rd March at Sandown Bay Academy, Fairway, Sandown. Doors open at 18:00 for a 18:30 start.
Bands already confirmed for the night include Reminders, LoFocus, Bedford Avenue, Fish Out of Water and Ultra Violet. Hosts and judges are to be confirmed.
