Following the overwhelmingly enthusiastic response to their recent Gastronomic Weekend tour, The Royal Hotel is teaming up once again with the Isle of Wight’s farmers and food producers to showcase some outstanding local ingredients.
The Ventnor hotel’s talented chefs have devised several 6-course tasting menus starring favourite Island produce, from locally grown garlic and tomatoes to heritage vegetables and beer.
Between 22nd–29th May, you can sample a garlic-themed tasting menu, featuring different varieties of this popular superfood, including Elephant Garlic and Black Garlic, sourced from The Garlic Farm in Newchurch.
For the week of the 12th–19th June enjoy the tasting menu using tomatoes from The Tomato Stall, showing all the amazing ways you can enjoy this delicious vegetable.
From 10th–17th July, the menu will star fresh vegetables grown by family-run farm The Living Larder.
Finally, during the 11th–18th September, The Royal Hotel will have a tasting menu with a beer and ale theme, in partnership with Goddards Brewery in Ryde.
Price at just £50 per person, these 6-course tasting menus offer fantastic value for fine dining at The Royal, and a great opportunity to celebrate the Island’s superb local produce.
