People on the Island are being invited to an event on Wednesday 29th June in Newport to hear the emerging ideas that could change the face of health and social care.
The My Life a Full Life programme, which is backed by a partnership of the NHS, the voluntary and independent sectors and the Isle of Wight Council, is keen to share the initial results of its engagement work that took place earlier this year with people across the Island and to discuss how this has begun to shape the emerging proposals for change.
An event is to take place between 16:30 and 18:30 on Wednesday 29th June at the Riverside Centre, Newport.
Participants will hear a short overview of the programme and will then be invited to join 6 different workshops covering frailty; urgent and emergency care; planned care; long term conditions; children, young people and families; and mental health to hear about the feedback and emerging ideas in more detail.
David Newton, the lay chair of the service redesign board, said:
“Our health and care services are fundamentally important to all our lives and we are very grateful to everyone who has contributed to this vital process so far. The event on 29 June is about sharing the feedback we have received and our initial ideas for improving health and care services on the Island. We are absolutely committed to working together and we want to involve people as we develop a set of preferred options for the future.”
The event precedes a formal public consultation which will take place later in the year.
Over 200 people have already attended events to give their views on current services and to say what needs to change for the future, and several hundred people have responded to a survey. The feedback, comments and views have all been considered carefully and used to inform the emerging thinking which will be discussed at the event on 29th June.
Anyone wishing to attend the event can register by emailing [email protected] or calling 01983 822099 Ext. 3085.
