As part of the Barton Manor open garden event on Sunday 20th July, a special Les Misérables workshop will offer Island singers the chance to develop their skills alongside West End performers and members of the Vocal Performance Academy.
The three-hour workshop will run from 11:30 – 14:30 then culminate in a one hour performance in front of visitors to the open garden event at 15:00. There are limited spaces available, so don’t miss out on this opportunity.
This concert will include ‘Mozart to the Musicals’ ensembles from Catherine Françoise from The Phantom Of the Opera, Jennifer Coleman from The Royal College of Music, Susie Chaytow from the Performance Preparation Academy and the Hospice’s own director of finance Stephen Chaytow and students from the Vocal Performance Academy.
Performances will include songs from Carmen, Porgy & Bess, The Marriage of Figaro, Phantom of The Opera, Matilda, Rent, The Lion King and the songs of popular singers including Judy Garland and others.
Hospice fundraiser Katie Radburn said:
“If you are a member of a church choir or amateur dramatic group this will be a chance to develop your skills with, and perform alongside, West End singers.
“This is a unique opportunity to join West End singers in a performance at a beautiful location that is open on only a few occasions a year. We want you to come along, develop your skills alongside some of the best in the business and then invite friends, family and colleagues to watch and hear you perform.”
The workshop is £15.00 per head (to include entry to the event) plus £3.00 for a souvenir songbook. Call 01983 528989 to register your place and let us know if you are a Bass, Tenor, Alto or Soprano.
Entry to the Barton Manor open garden event is £4.00 and FREE for 14 and under. Parking is also free.
