49-year-old Keith Rust from Shanklin has been charged with drink driving following a collision on Lake Hill on Saturday, in which a 17-year-old girl received serious injuries including a broken back, pelvis and arm.
The teenager, who was injured alongside another 17-year-old girl, has undergone 2 operations following the car vs pedestrian collision, which occurred at around 19:00 near to the Tesco Lake store, as previously reported by Island Echo.
Rust will appear before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on Tuesday 1st November.
