As the country fights the biggest crisis since World War II, disrespectful vandals have defaced a memorial to those who served their country and paid the ultimate sacrifice.
The war memorial at Furrlongs, just off Coppins Bridge, is made up of 4 silhouettes of soldiers.
Disgustingly, the metal figures have been graffitied with ‘wassup’ spray painted across one of the silhouettes.
Islanders have already expressed their anger at the act, which is assumed to have been carried out by young persons unknown.
Anyone with information about this incident can contact Police on 101.

One can bet that they are charity kept, paid for by tax credits, or universal credits now, have parents claiming subsidised rent and council tax, work a few if any hours, and claim to be single parents, whilst dealing in drugs.
Several of the criteria will likely fit, if not all. One doesn’t ‘have’ to be Poriot to deduce the odds of such.

There’s a distinction from the long term benefit scroungers who refuse to work and are unemployable, and those who may have to turn to it because of the Covid-19 virus crisis. I think the people who did this are sick, probably get free methadone from the chemists or steal alcohol from supermarkets, absolute scum, whether on benefits or not.
