Local charity Age UK Isle of Wight has partnered with community churches to welcome those with dementia, their carers, family and friends to a Dementia Friendly Christmas Carole Service this December.
These welcoming services are shorter, more informal and specifically designed with the needs of people living with dementia in mind, although everyone is welcome.
Each offers accessible service booklets, traditional hymns and prayers, short readings and an address with time to socialise and meet other visitors.
You can join a Dementia Friendly Christmas Carol service in:
• Newport on Monday 10th December from 14:00 at the Newport Congregational Church, Pyle Street
• Brading on Wednesday 12th December from 13:30 at St. Mary the Virgin Church, High Street
• Ryde on Thursday 13th December from 14:00 at St. John the Baptist Church, High Park Road
• Freshwater on Friday 14th December from 14:00 at Freshwater Methodist Church, Brookside Road
Newport, Brading and Ryde will be supported by a local primary school singing carols and there will be tea, coffee and mince pies after each service.
