Singled out for his professionalism, excellent customer service and communications skills and amiable personality, the popular Isle of Wight bus driver scored highly for his adaptable and flexible work ethic.
His commitment to promoting the island’s many attractions, and enthusiasm for charity fundraising, has also been recognised.
Southern Vectis managing director, Andrew Wickham has said:
“We are absolutely delighted for Dave. He is held in high esteem by both colleagues and Southern Vectis customers across the Isle of Wight.
“We are fortunate enough to have a group of experienced and highly-skilled professionals, providing our customers with an excellent service, but Dave really stands out. This is wonderful recognition for all his efforts. I would like to congratulate him on behalf of the entire team here.”
“I’m thrilled to be awarded top prize. It really is one of the highlights of my career. The bonus is, I love helping passengers travelling with Southern Vectis – whether they are local people or visitors to the island. I’d like to thank all those who have nominated and supported me.”
The UK Bus Awards scheme was founded in 1996. It was designed to develop further the Bus Good Practice Awards – which were set up by the Association of Metropolitan Authorities in 1991.
