Heartbeat’s Beat the Heat IOW Quiz Night will return on Thursday 16th October 2025 at the Royal Solent Yacht Club in Yarmouth.
Following a sell-out success in Ryde earlier this year, the fundraising evening is set to bring Islanders together once again for a night of friendly competition, community spirit and a curry supper – all in aid of Heartbeat, the charity that runs Rotary Heartbeat House.
Teams of up to six can take part in the quiz, with entry costing £25 per person, which includes a curry meal. Numbers are limited, and organisers are encouraging Islanders to book quickly to avoid disappointment.
Rotary Heartbeat House is a 24-bedroom “home from home” in Southampton, providing affordable accommodation for cardiac patients’ families – including many from the Isle of Wight – for just a one-off £50 key deposit.
Tanya Harder, Community Fundraising and Marketing Manager at Beat the Heat IOW, said:
“We are thrilled to be hosting our Beat the Heat IOW Quiz Night in such a fantastic venue, and we are incredibly grateful to Emerald Elite VA Services Ltd. for their generosity in being our sponsor for the event. Hannah and her colleagues are avid quizzers, eager to boost awareness for Heartbeat and Rotary Heartbeat House. This outstanding home-away-from-home provides crucial support for cardiac patients and their families, particularly those from the Isle of Wight.”
She added:
“We support hundreds of people from the Isle of Wight every year whose loved ones are receiving treatment at the Wessex Cardiac Centre, University Hospital Southampton, and all the funds we raise at this quiz night will go towards helping us continue to provide these services. We couldn’t do it without the amazing generosity of our supporters.”
Event sponsor Hannah Woodford, CEO and Founder of Emerald Elite VA Services Ltd., commented:
“I believe in giving back to the community and supporting local initiatives that make a real difference. We are proud to sponsor Heartbeat’s Beat the Heat IOW Quiz Night and look forward to a fun evening that will also support such an important cause. Working with Tanya and the team is always such a pleasure and we look forward to supporting Heartbeat in as many ways as we can in future.”
The night will feature prizes, good food and plenty of laughs, with funds directly supporting Islanders in need of accommodation while their loved ones receive life-saving cardiac care.
