Sandown Esplanade will be closed next week to facilitate the removal of a crane being used on-site at the brand new Premier Inn development.
Work on the 100-bed hotel and restaurant has been progressing well with things on track for a Summer 2020 opening.
As the construction enters the next stage, contractors will be working to remove a crane from the site between Monday 2nd and Wednesday 4th March. The crane has become part of the skyline for the past few months having been erected on what has become the lift shaft of the hotel.
The Esplanade will be temporarily closed to all traffic for 2-3 days to enable the safe removal of the crane, as well as the relocation of the site’s welfare cabins.
The footpaths and businesses on the Esplanade will be open as usual.
