John and Dee Oswald have launched a branch of ‘Home Instead Senior Care’ on the Isle of Wight, covering all locations across the Island.

The caring couple’s mission is to change the face of ageing and revolutionise the way seniors are cared for in the local community.

Previously to joining Home Instead, John led a successful career as a chartered surveyor, running a major global partnership, whilst Dee’s background is in business and administration.

Home Instead Senior Care is an award winning, innovative company that tailors their care plans to the needs of individual clients. Services include companionship, respite and post-discharge care, personal care, Alzheimer’s and dementia care, medication reminders, and palliative care.

The Isle of Wight office is proud to be part of the national Home Instead family of independently owned offices covering over 200 locations throughout the UK. Last year alone, Home Instead provided 6 million hours of care to elderly people, and are expecting this number to rise as the population continues to age.

In an industry where 15 minute visits are not uncommon, Home Instead care visits last for a minimum of 1 hour. Clients are visited by a caregiver that is matched to them based on shared interests and commonalties, thus providing continuity and quality of care, enabling a trusting relationship to develop.

John said:

“Our aim is to help people live independently, in the comfort of their own home, for longer. Dee and I have both experienced the difficulties of trying to obtain quality care for our own ageing parents and this being the primary reason for setting up the new business.”

“We realised that we could really help to make a difference, not only for those being cared for, but also for their families.  Our pledge is that the care we provide is the care we would want for our own Mum or Dad.”

Dee said:

“We are now recruiting caring and compassionate people to join our team. To us, age doesn’t matter, skills are transferable and training is provided. All we do ask is that you have a passion for caring.”

Dee and John are delighted to be joined by Abigail Wheeler as care manager and a key member of their management team. Abigail has a wealth of experience not only in domiciliary care, but is also a qualified Allied Health Professional.

Home Instead is currently taking on new clients and recruiting for a number of positions. To find out more about the company, visit or call 01983 240015.
