Home Instead Isle of Wight is inviting the community to a Cake Day fundraiser on Thursday 25th September, from 10:00 to 15:00, at their Cowes office in support of Alzheimer’s Research UK.
Guests can expect a warm welcome, a delicious array of homemade cakes courtesy of Richmond’s Bakery, and a charity raffle — all in aid of Alzheimer’s Research UK. Entry will be by donation on the door, with every penny raised going directly to support pioneering dementia research.
As well as enjoying sweet treats and refreshments, visitors will have the chance to meet the Home Instead team and connect with others from the community. Organisers say the event is not just about raising money, but also awareness of a condition that touches many Island families.
A charity raffle will also be held, with local businesses and individuals encouraged to donate prizes — however big or small. All donors will be thanked and acknowledged on the day.
Tasha Weir, Registered Manager of Home Instead Isle of Wight, said:
“Dementia touches so many families here on the Island, including many of the clients we care for.”
“We know how challenging it can be for families to live with the condition, and that’s why supporting Alzheimer’s Research UK is so important to us. This event is about more than just fundraising — it’s about coming together as a community, raising awareness, and showing that small actions, like enjoying a slice of cake, can make a big difference.”
“We’d love to see as many people as possible join us, whether you’re popping in for a cuppa, donating a raffle prize, or simply showing your support.”
Alzheimer’s Research UK is the country’s leading dementia research charity. Funds raised from events like this help to drive forward vital studies into prevention, treatment and, ultimately, finding a cure.
The Cake Day fundraiser will take place on Thursday 25th September 2025, between 10:00 and 15:00, at the Home Instead office located at The Prospect Business Centre, Prospect Road, Cowes, PO31 7AD.
