Cowes Enterprise College is hosting their first ever Christmas Market on Friday 11th December and students have been working hard to make hand-made decorations, cards and other crafts to sell.
The event, which will run from 16:00 until 19:00, is set to be a huge success with outside businesses, charities and craft groups also manning stalls alongside those run by the enthusiastic students.
The Christmas Market idea, originally devised by the Fleet Captains, was brought to reality in order to not only celebrate Christmas within the academy, but to spark some competition between the 4 different ‘Fleets’ that students are housed into and to bring community spirit to the Academy. Each student in the school is part of Britannia, Enterprise, Endeavour or Shamrock and the crew that earns the most profit will win the Christmas Market Challenge.
Miss Collis states:
“We are looking forward to this event as it will bring the Academy and the community together.
“Students have been putting in lots of hours of work after college to make the event a huge success so we look forward to seeing as many people there as possible for some classic Christmas fun!”
Whether you want to buy Christmas presents for family and friends, enjoy festive entertainment, want to visit Santa in his grotto or enjoy hot drinks and cakes there is something for everyone.
