Red Funnel is bringing a host of quality exhibitors and festive entertainment to the Cowes Christmas Festival at Cowes Yacht Haven on 19th and 20th December.
The two day event will celebrate the best quality produce, art and crafts from the Isle of Wight and is free to attend. Visitors from the mainland can take advantage of a special two for £12 offer travelling on the Red Jet and can also benefit from a special £5 all day parking rate at the Triangle Car Park.
Cowes Yacht Haven will be transformed into a Christmas extravaganza, teeming with a fantastic choice of Isle of Wight produce, arts and crafts, and gifts. Over 50 exhibitors have been confirmed, including Isle of Wight Distillery, Beautiful Isle of Wight Photography, Isle of Fudge and The Garlic Farm. The full list of exhibitors can be found at www.redfunnel.co.uk/coweschristmas.
Red Funnel champions the use of produce from the Isle of Wight and was awarded a Wight Marque Gold Standard from the Royal Isle of Wight Agricultural Society this year for its commitment to sourcing locally 60 per cent of food and drink used onboard its ferries.
Visitors will be able to grab tasters from many of the stalls before making their way to live cookery demonstrations from talented local chefs including Robert Thompson, who won the Island its only Michelin star in 2008, at the interactive Cookery Theatre. For anyone looking for festive food inspiration, the chefs will display their professional techniques while cooking tasty recipes.
Other entertainment will include free Christmas craft making for children, a fantastic range of live music and Vintage Vacations Santa’s Grotto.
Jonathan Green, marketing and communications director at Red Funnel, said:
“We are delighted to bring back the Cowes Christmas Festival for the third year in a row. It’s incredibly important to showcase the high-quality, delicious food and drink that comes from local producers. We know how great it is because we ourselves champion local produce and source a large quantity of our ingredients from the local area.
“Teamed with a festive atmosphere and the best selection of local arts, crafts and gifts, it’s the perfect place to pick up a present or a special addition to your Christmas dinner table.”
Ian Gregory, operations manager at Cowes Yacht Haven, said:
“The Cowes Christmas Festival is a really popular event every year and we love transforming the events centre into a Christmas wonderland. The free event attracts people from all over the Island and beyond who want to try out the best produce available, pick up some more unusual gifts and enjoy a day of festive fun.”
