Sophie, The Countess of Wessex will launch Wightlink’s brand new car ferry during a day visit to the Isle of Wight later this month.
On Thursday 20th September, The Countess will make a solo visit to the Island to undertake 3 Royal engagements.
The main event will be the official launching of the £30million car ferry ‘Victoria of Wight’ at Wightlink’s terminal in Fishbourne. A special ceremony will be taking place shoreside to mark the start of a 35-year career for the cross-Solent ferry.
A visit will also be paid to Liz Earle Beauty Company’s headquarters on Nicholson Road in Ryde. The international business was visited by HRH The Duchess of Cornwall back in 2009.
The Countess will be making her way to Dover Street in the town too as the third strand to the Royal visit. She will visit Aspire Ryde – a charity that operates a community center and venue for local events in the former Holy Trinity church buildings.
