It has been recommended that the Isle of Wight Council’s Planning Committee grant conditional approval for plans to build 80 homes on farm land in Ryde.
A planning application submitted in June last year shows intention to build 80 homes and associated infrastructure on land at Westridge Farm between Appley and Bullen.
The Council’s Planning Committee are due to consider the application, which has attracted over 250 comments from members of the public – the majority opposing the application. Ryde Town Council has also objected to the plans.
Despite the public’s battle to prevent the application going through, it looks set to be given conditional approval at next Tuesday’s committee meeting at County Hall (24th January).
A scarecrow campaign was launched by local residents in September.
