Wight Eagles Academy sides experienced the sweet taste of victory and the bitter taste of defeat last weekend.
The young U12 Eagles carried on with their fantastic start to the season by securing another great win against the Whiteley Wanderers.
The Eagles were strong from the off, creating chances for the strikers to get early shots. They were very comfortable in the center of midfield with a solid display from Sophia Aubrey, who made the passes passes for the non-stop running of Evlynn Harvey .
The goals began in the 10th minute, with the quick winger Paignton Kennedy making it 1-0; she then went on to score a 2nd 6 mins later to extend the Eagles’ lead (2-0).
The Island side then pounced on an error by Whiteley, and Evlynn Harvey slotted home (3-0).
Whiteley then found some space in behind the Eagles Defence to loop the ball over the Eagles keeper to pull one back (3-1).
The game was finally settled by another fantastic solo run through the Whiteley Defence by Paignton Kennedy to secure her hat trick (4-1), and the game was sealed by goal machine Evlynn Harvey (5-1) .

There was an unlucky 1-0 result for the hard-working Eagles U14s as they travelled away to Portchester.
The Eagles had their chances to seal the game but struggled with the high tempo and strength of a hard working Portchester side .
Manager Scott Ronan said:
“It was a tough game for us, and the result didn’t come off, but we will go back into the league games now fully focused.
“The girls worked hard and were very unlucky.”
