4 baby girls were welcomed into the world at St Mary’s Hospital on Christmas Day – the first time in at least 6 years that no baby boys were born on Christmas.

First to arrive at 09:31 was a daughter for Louanne Freeman and Pete Bradley of Cowes. The baby, named Elizabeth Bradley, weighed in at 8lb 7.05ozs.

The next arrival of the day was at 12:09 weighing 7lbs 6oz, followed by the birth of baby Eryn Absalom at 14:50, the daughter of Nicky Bale and Lee Absalom weighing in at 8lb 2oz.

Last to arrive at 17:53 was baby Harriet Amos weighing in at 9lbs 1oz (4.14kg), the daughter of Karen Amos and Mark Przysocki from Newport.

2015 saw 2 baby boys born on Christmas Day.
