The Newchurch Male Voice Choir will be presenting a joint concert with the visiting Bargoed Male Voice Choir on Friday (7th October) at St John’s Church, Newport from 19:30.
The mainland choir – from the valleys of South Wales where mining was the main industry and the Male Voice Choirs were so strong – are on a weekend tour of the Island.
Besides the 2 choirs singing numbers from their own repotire, they will sing at least 4 numbers together.
There will be guest appearances from Helen Mansfield (Soprano) and Ben Perrins (Saxaphone).
Entry is free with a retiring collection. All proceeds will go to the Martin Poynter Trust supporting the Stroke Association
On Saturday (8th October), the Newchurch Male Voice Choir will perform a second concert at The Church of the Good Shepherd in Lake.
From 19:30 the choir will showcase their own music with members of the choir also performing solo and duet items.
Entry is free with a retiring collection, also for the Martin Poynter Trust and for the Church itself.
