Chalkpit Records are to host a special show at Quay Arts in Newport on Saturday (13th May) to celebrate their first year of live music promotions on the Isle of Wight and developing and nurturing the Island’s finest musical offerings.
Headlining the bill is Milton Keynes trio ‘Kit Walker’, a new band who squash the timeless grooves of Quincy Jones, sweet harmonies of Don Henley and the outrageous vibes of Peter Gabriel into super tight, contemporary dance/rock anthems.
Kit Walker will be supported by the Isle of Wight’s emerging electronic-indie 5 piece Nakamarra, who are set for a busy summer after winning the Platform One ‘Wight Noize’ competition to play the main stage at this year’s Isle of Wight Festival. The band is also set to be playing at the likes of Common People and Bestival.
Opening the evening will be beach punk trio Reminders, the band just vibrate energy with so much love for music, the band are currently all aged 16-19 studying at college and have been working with Chalkpit Records to develop the bands portfolio and is set to release their new single ‘If I Know You’ on Wednesday 10th May.
