Ryde-based HSS Traffic Management has recently achieved the BSI ISO 9001 and National Highways Sector Scheme certification, another huge boost for the company which has grown to employ 13 Islanders in just 3 years.
The team, who primarily provide traffic management for the Island’s PFI contractor, began with just 2 operatives but now boasts a strong team of 13 men and women who work around the clock, 7 days a week.
The traffic management division of HSS Hire originally began its venture at the Parkhurst Road Hire Shop in Newport, but rapidly outgrew the space and in April 2016 opened their first dedicated traffic management depot on Nicholson Road, Ryde.
The accreditation rounds off a busy summer of events for the company, who now turn their attention to the winter weather and continued resurfacing of the Island’s roads.
Jeff Anderson, Head of HSS Traffic Management England & Wales said:
“It has been a great year for us, not only because we have moved to a spacious new depot but because we have been able to offer even more Islanders full-time employment.
“This accreditation recognises the standard of our work, the safe working practices and the knowledge and skills of our operatives.
“I would like to personally thank the ever growing team of staff for their commitment and support towards the company”.
Tara Jacobs, one of the newer HSS colleagues who works as the Operations Manager said:
“It’s great how our business has put so many islanders into jobs, moving to our Ryde depot was a move waiting to happen.
“Having been accredited in the BSI ISO 9001 is very rewarding for all the hard work we have put in as a team over the years.
