After 7 rounds contesting the winter league, the Carisbrooke Air Rifle team club have finished in a creditable 3rd place overall in the finals of the Central Southern Field Target Association regional 2022/23 Winter League Competition.
Barry Warren of the Carisbrooke club has said:
“That’s not bad for a small Island-based airgun target club who have to travel to the many venues on the mainland.”

The CSFTA winter league is contested by 7 clubs within the region: Frobury, Bisley, Meon Valley, Soton Buccaneers, N. Oxon, Newbury and Carisbrooke.
5 club members and sometimes 6 have regularly undertaken the ferry crossings to travel to these clubs for the 2022-23 season.
Apart from the team event, club member, Richard Green, achieved 1st place in C grade, Dave Hollingdale 1st in the Open grade and Barry Warren 3rd in AA grade.
