The Isle of Wight College will be the venue for a major job, education and careers fair funded by the Isle of Wight Council and the Solent LEP.
If you are looking for a job, apprenticeship or traineeships, or maybe a career change, there will be more than 40 exhibitors on hand to speak to including universities, training providers, further education colleges and employers.
Island Futures, the council’s careers specialist service, will also be available on the day to advise about jobs, careers, access to training and how to improve your CV. The free event runs from 11:00 until 15:00 (last entry 14:00) on Wednesday 26th October — there is no need to book a place or appointment.
Visitors with physical or sensory needs, or those who require extra time to get around the event, are invited to attend from 10:30 until 11:00 for a quieter session.
Councillor Debbie Andre, Cabinet member for education and lifelong skills, said:
“I would encourage residents who are looking for employment or anyone who wants to find out about the opportunities open to them across the Island, to come along to the free event.
“The fair brings together employers, employment support agencies and education and training providers to offer local people of all ages job opportunities, information and advice.
“There will be lots of information and guidance on offer whether you are looking for work, to upskill or retrain. The event is a great opportunity to speak face to face with training providers and you’ll have access to a range of support to help you on your career journey.”
The event provides key advice to Island residents, aged from 14 years old upwards, including adults.
Exhibitors include:
- Ascensos
- Carewatch
- BAE Systems

- Isle of Wight NHS Trust

Great idea and I like the idea of a quieter period for those with physical or sensory issues.
