Lola Shaw, Daisy Sheaff and Raymond Groves have all been selected to represent the Isle of Wight in the Hampshire Athletics Championship.
Lola will run in the 200 metres, Daisy in the 100 metres and Raymond will compete in the High Jump. All 3 qualified by virtue of their excellent performance at the Island Athletics Championships at the Fairway Sports Complex, Sandown, several weeks ago.
Joe Kirby and Ethan Soar, both in Year 9, also qualified to compete in High Jump but are unable to attend the event on Wednesday 12th July owing to injury.
Miss Mildenhall, PE Teacher, has said:
“The pupils have excelled themselves in these achievements. The standard of sport was so high, and all the pupils are currently the best in their sport in their age group on the Island.
“We as a department are incredibly proud of the pupils’ hard work and resilience”.
Principal, Mr David Lloyd, added:
“We are very proud of all five pupils and wish them well for the Championships.”
