September marks a busy month of events in the town of Brading, including the Brading Scarecrow Festival.
Between Friday 23rd and Sunday 25th September the Brading Scarecrow Festival takes place. The festival is open to all Brading Residents and there are prizes for the best scarecrow and the best paintings for both adults and children.
Scarecrows can be in any format, from a scarecrow in the garden to a scarecrow painting which can be displayed in a window. You may enter as many times as you like.
Entry forms are available from local shops and the Brading Centre or by phoning 01983 407723/408108 from the first week of September. Closing date for entries is 17th September.
There will be prizes for finding the most scarecrows and pictures and maps will be available over the weekend of the event.
Tomorrow (Monday 12th September) sees the Brading Residents Action Group (BRAG) community lunch at The Bugle at 12.30. New members always welcome. For more information call 01983 407723.
On Saturday 17th September St Mary’s Church are holding a jumble sale at Brading Town Hall between 14:00-16:00.
Friday 23rd September will see an evening of Ghostly tales by Marc Tuckey at The Bugle from 19:30 as part of Brading Scarecrow Festival. New members welcome.
September’s events are rounded off on Sunday 25th September with a joint Harvest Service to be held at St Mary’s Church with brunch in the Church Hall.
