Breathe Easy, the Island charity based at the respiratory department of St Mary’s Hospital, are once again holding a Santa’s grotto this December for all the boys and girls.
Father Christmas will be visiting Tapnell Farm (on Middle Road near Freshwater) for the weekend of Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th December from 10:00 until 16:00.
The jolly fella will then dash over to Sainsbury’s in Newport for the following weekend of Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th December, also from 10:00 until 16:00.
Father Christmas will give all children a present for a donation of £3 and he will be ably assisted by Mother Christmas, Rudolph and assorted bunch of colourful elves
The money raised will be going to an appeal by the Island’s hospital to raise £5,000 in order to purchase a NOX T3 machine that will help diagnose children with sleep apnoea.
Currently children have to travel to Southampton for tests for this condition and this can be very difficult and upsetting. St Mary’s Hospital want this special machine to be available on the Island in their own special sleep unit.
