One of Britain’s favourite pastimes was played in the middle of the Solent bright and early this morning (Sunday).
An exceptionally low tide revealed Bramble Bank – normally known as a shipping hazard – to allow for a game of cricket to be played.
England fast bowler Stuart Broad (pictured left) joined the Royal Southern Yacht Club side as they took on Island Sailing Club in the rather unusual friendly.
The annual coming together of players has been taking place for almost 70 years and is certainly a tradition that looks set to continue.
Bramble Bank is situated to the north of Cowes and is where the Hoegh Osaka grounded herself back in 2015.
