Double Trouble Promotions has teamed up with Premier Events and VM Productions to bring boxing legend Frank Bruno MBE to the Isle of Wight this weekend.
The boxing legend is coming down to the Island for his 1st-ever event here, for 1 night only on Saturday 16th September at Cowes Yacht Haven.
The evening will feature live and unscripted interviews with the former world heavyweight champion. Frank will take to the stage to give a real-life insight into his illustrious career and life, both in and out of the ring.
His career highlight – as well as fighting Mike Tyson – was becoming the winner of the WBC Heavyweight Championship in 1995. Altogether, Hammersmith-born Bruno won 40 of his 45 contests.
Like Henry Cooper before him, the sporting icon has remained a popular celebrity with the British public since his ring career ended and still appears regally in pantomime. The night also features a top-class comedian and a huge sports and music memorabilia auction.
It is recognised that this isn’t Bruno’s 1st time on the Island with him recently recalling being refused entry from Colonel Bogey’s in Sandown many years ago, after he attempted to get in wearing jeans. After much persuasion, Bruno and his entourage were let into the legendary Island nightclub.
Tickets for the show are available exclusively from The Price is Wight and start from £20.00 – https://www.thepriceiswight.co.uk/product/frank-bruno/.

I like the “after much persuasion” he and his entourage were allowed into the club. There aren’t many who would stop him, I’m sure. Ha!
I remember listening to his first fight with Mike Tyson on the radio. Tyson was considered unbeatable then, and when Bruno wobbled him early on, it was one of the most exciting commentaries ever.
I hope he manages to get down to a local boxing club while he’s here to offer some inspiration.
Poor Frank. He has been sectioned a few times recently and suffers badly with his mental health. God bless him.
