Island Echo readers have the opportunity to vote for an Isle of Wight Primary girls’ football team to win a national award.
Binstead Primary School’s Under-11 football team have been nominated for the English Schools’ Football Association Team Achievement Award.
The English Schools’ Football Association has said:
“This award is designed to celebrate a school’s football team that has shown progression and achievement in their performance as a team.
“It is not necessarily designed for those who have won all their fixtures/got to national finals, but for those who have seen true progression of teamwork, ability and success as a result.
“For example, a team that has improved in all areas of schools’ football and has made big steps forward together.”
The team has been nominated for the following reasons:
“Binstead Primary School’s U11 Girls’ football team have showed incredible dedication, determination and have become wonderful ambassadors for their school in the 2022/23 season.
“They have reached the Isle of Wight League finals and Hampshire Finals of the Pokemon Primary Schools’ Cup competitions thanks to the continual hard work they’ve put in to improve their skills, resilience and hugely respectful attitudes.”
Anyone wishing to vote for the Isle of Wight girls may do so here.
Voting closes on Monday 19th June.
