Bembridge Heritage will be holding its Summer exhibition at Bembridge Village Hall on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th August.
Held between 10:30 and 16:00 each day, the theme of this year’s exhibition is: ‘Bembridge – Then and Now’ which, through a display of over 200 photographs and maps from the Victorian and Edwardian eras to later times will show how the village of Bembridge has developed and changed, by having the modern equivalent scene alongside, by comparison.
Also available for viewing will be the Bembridge Heritage computerised database, with over 8,000 images of photos, documents and maps depicting all aspects of village life, its history and development.
It will be a fascinating opportunity to see how the village has evolved from the scattered community of the Victorian age to how the enclosure of the harbour and the coming of the railway started the change and development of the village to the thriving community as we now know it.
The entry is free and refreshments will be available throughout the event.
Best hope the rain continues to pour down then. At least a couple of bored DFL’s can waste a half hour keeping dry.
