Isle of Wight housebuilder David Wilson Homes has appointed Michaela Martin as site manager for its St George’s Gate development in Shide, which opens later this month.
Michaela, who won a prestigious Pride in the Job award for her work on the Island last year, is overseeing construction at the site, working closely with all those involved in the process – including subcontractors and suppliers.
Michaela, who lives in Newport, started her career with the 5 star housebuilder as an apprentice carpenter and has worked her way up to become one of the country’s leading site managers.
She has worked in construction for the last 11 years, having switched from her original plans to be an interior designer, and said that in her role she particularly enjoys the organisation and seeing all of the planning coming together, and happy customers moving into their new homes.
Michelle Storer, Barratt sales director added:
“We think very carefully when appointing site managers for our new developments because they are crucial to the success of these important new communities.
“Michaela has skills and experience to deliver homes of the quality our buyers have come to expect from us. I look forward to watching this impressive new development take shape.”
