Former Top Gear presenter Rory Reid has been turning heads in the South Wight today (Tuesday) whilst filming with a pair of luxury, high-end cars.
A 2019 Bentley Continental GT V8 and a 2019 McLaren GT V8 S-A – thought to be worth over £150,000+ each – have been seen driving around Ventnor for several hours.
Island Echo understands the Rory is filming segments in both cars for a GT vs GT video for Autotrader’s YouTube channel. Rory is best known for presenting 3 series of BBC’s Top Gear before joining Autotrader in 2019.
As well as filming in and around Ventnor town, Rory has been captured on camera taking the cars for a spin along the iconic Military Road.
The vehicle’s number plates are thought to relate directly to the cars, which have come from the manufacturers themselves – ‘BML’ for Bentley Motors Limited and ‘MCL’ for McLaren.
It is unknown how long Rory and the crew will be on the Island for, or when the video will appear on our screens. It is understood they travelled across the Solent yesterday (Monday).
UPDATE @ 22:00 – Rory Reid took to Twitter and replied to our tweet by thanking the Isle of Wight for the hospitality and they’ll be back!
“Shout out to the Isle of Wight for the hospitality.
“Met some very cool, friendly people.
“We’ll be back! ✌🏾”

Saw the McLaren in freshwater this afternoon!
Were they here because they knew there was no chance of being caught speeding on the Military Road ?
