Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a Wootton woman sustained serious injuries following a collision with a car on Friday night (2nd December).
As first reported by Island Echo, Police and ambulance crews were called to High Street, Wootton at just before 20:40 when the 59-year-old casualty, a pedestrian, was in collision with a silver Toyota Avensis. She was taken to St Mary’s Hospital with leg, arm and shoulder fractures.
The driver, a 32-year-old man from Sandown, was uninjured.
PC Dominic Green has said:
“I am appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward, particularly the driver of a car-derived van* that passed the scene within seconds of the accident.”
