St Catherine’s School and Ventnor Rotary will be holding their fifth annual Summertime Blues & Jazz Picnic this coming Sunday (27th August) at the historic East Dene in Bonchurch.
London-based singer Aydenne Simone – who has been wowing audiences with her powerful vocal tones for over 25 years – will be returning to play at the picnic. This year Aydenne will be performing alongside one of the Island’s favourite bands The Unity Stompers, who have backed many of the top names in British jazz including Humphrey Lyttleton, Digby Fairweather and Terry Lightfoot.
Doors will open at noon with music from 13:00-16:00. A covered seating area will be provided to ensure it’s an all-weather event. Guests are welcome to bring their own picnics, rugs, cushions, seating, tables and anything else to help make them comfortable. There will be a cash bar and free parking including a disabled car park.
Adult tickets cost £10 (£12 at the gate), tickets for 12 to 16-year-olds are £5 and under 12s are free (but need a ticket). Tickets are on sale at St Catherine’s Charity Shop on the High Street in Newport and Seasons on the High Street in Ventnor.
