Wightlink-Wight Mountain Cycle Racing Team member, Alfie Haydon, travelled to Plymouth to compete in the final round of the ‘Soggy Bottom’ MTB Series at Newnham Park on Sunday (9th February).
Alfie had a terrific race, taking his second win of the Series and the Junior Overall title.
Alfie said:
“It was a beautiful day for racing, and the course was mega – one of the best I’ve ridden.
“There was over 600 feet of elevation every lap, and the steepest hill I’ve ever had to race up.
“I had a good start, got my head down and put in some consistent lap times to take the win comfortably.”
