5 SCHOOL BUS ROUTES CUT FROM SEPTEMBER

The Isle of Wight Council has cut 5 school bus routes for the forthcoming academic year, which begins in September 2019.

It has been confirmed that a number of routes, operated by Southern Vectis’ Vectis Blue buses, will no longer operate.

The routes cut include:

Route 30 – Newport – Cowes Enterprise College
Route 317 – Upper Ventnor, Wroxall, Godshill and Merstone – Medina College
Route 320 – Ventnor, Whitwell and Godshill – Medina College
Route 331 – Sandown, Lake, Shanklin and Godshill – Carisbrooke secondary schools
Route 334 – Cowes and Northwood – Carisbrooke secondary schools

In addition to the axed routes, the following bus routes will no longer serve Carisbrooke College. They have also been renumbered.

Route 330 (now 406) – Ventnor, Wroxall, Godshill and Rookley – Christ the King College
Route 332 (now 408) – Sandown, Lake, Apse Heath, Winford, Arreton and Merstone – Christ the King College
Route 333 (now 409) – East Cowes and Whippingham – Christ the King College
Route 335 (now 411) – Bembridge, St Helens, Seaview, Ryde, Binstead and Wootton – Christ the King College
