Last season’s Division 1 runners-up, Whitecroft & Barton Sports, have made 3 impressive new summer signings ahead of the start of the 2023/24 season.
W&B have signed up 2 forwards – Sam Cant and Kyle Drew – and 1 midfielder, Coner Lyon.
Kyle Drew has come from Isle of Wight champions Shanklin.
Of the signing, W&B have said:
“We are absolutely delighted to announce the signing of Kyle Drew for the forthcoming 2023/24 season. A class player that will bring a huge amount of energy, strength and quality to our team this season.”
W&B have also poached Sam Cant from East Cowes Vics.
The club have said:
“The one we’ve been after for ages. We’re excited to announce the signing of striker Sam Cant.
“After finishing top goal scorer last season for East Cowes Vics in the Wessex League, a change in his circumstances has allowed us to finally get him on board. An absolute handful for any defence around, Sam’s quality in the air and with the ball at his feet will be massive for the team throughout this season.”
Coner Lyon has also joined W&B from East Cowes Vics.
Lyon’s new club have commented:
“We are pleased to announce the signature of midfielder Coner Lyon.
“Straight off the back of a full Wessex league campaign last season with East Cowes Vics, we’re delighted to have Coner join us. His combative and physical play will be a major asset to the team this season.”
