24 hours of non-stop live music at St Catherine’s Church, Ventnor – that is the aim of the Friends of St Catherine’s fundraiser on 15th and 16th October.

Beginning at 10:45 on Saturday 15th and finishing at 10:45 on Sunday 16th, members of St Catherine’s and their friends will sustain 24 hours of continuous music. The event will include an evening ticketed concert between 19:00-21:00 featuring Clive and Helen Malabar, Michele Brock and other guests.

Islanders are being invited to drop in at any time throughout the event to enjoy solo performances, choir practice, hand bells, guitar, piano, accordions, saxophone and more.

Organisers of the event have said:

“We hope to raise funds by sponsorship of individuals or groups. The young people playing from 01:00-03:00 and the small hours pianists need special encouragement!”

There will be a raffle and a music quiz running throughout and the Hub will be open for refreshments during the day time sessions. A soup and roll lunch will be available from noon until 13:30.

The evening concert costs just £5, with all funds going towards a project to enhance the church grounds.
