Wight Eagles’ Under-14s and Under-12s team both won last weekend.
Wight Eagles U14s had their first home game against Hamble Falcons. The Eagles started very fast with Lyla Cooke putting a ball through to Kelsie Ronanto to run onto and slot home with 2 minutes gone. (1-0).
Hamble were strong but just couldn’t make anything count. Amelia Ford picked the ball up in the middle and passed to Kelsie Ronan to make it 2-0. 5 minutes later, Eloise Winter took a goal kick which bounced over everyone for Kayla to pick up and make the score 3-0 at half time.
In the 2nd half, the young Eagles applied the pressure straight from the off. Lyla Cooke put another ball through to Kelsie Ronan to get her hat trick. The Wight Eagle girls looked very strong in all positions today and were comfortable the whole game.
Player of the match: Eloise Winter
After the game, manager Scott Ronan said:
“This is a dream start of the season for the girls. I’m over the moon with their effort, hard work and discipline to take all 3 points home in style.
“I’m blessed to have 2 keepers to pick from, which gives me a selection headache but Eloise fully deserved player of the match today.”
