A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid, gas, electrical incapacitation device following an incident in Yarmouth on Sunday evening.
A concerned member of the public called 999 at just gone 19:30 after they spotted an individual with what appeared to be a ‘stun gun’.
Police descended on the scene at Quay Street in the heart of Yarmouth town and moved in to make arrests.
The 20-year-old man remained in Police custody yesterday (Monday).
A second male was arrested and has since been charged with obstructing or resisting a constable in the execution of their duty. 49-year-old Mark Stephen Green of Christchurch Road, Downton will appear before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on 14th May.
