Police on the Isle of Wight have arrested, questioned and released a 15-year-old boy in connection with a serious assault in Cowes.
A 41-year-old man was subject to an assault on Bath Road in the town on Thursday 26th July. Police were called to the scene shortly after 23:30 and they discovered a male with lacerations to his head.
In the days that followed the incident went viral on social media when the victim posted photos of his injuries on Facebook. A video of the assault was also then posted by persons unknown.
The 15-year-old suspect has been released from Police custody without charge, but remains under investigation.
Enquiries are ongoing.
