The Wurzels will be performing at this year’s Isle of Wight Garlic Festival, organisers have announced.
In 1976 Tommy Banner and Pete Budd made the Scrumpy and Western band the UK’s Number 1 with hits ‘Combine Harvester’ and ‘I am a cider drinker’ and they’ve been playing around the country and appearing on TV ever since.
Festival organiser David Holmes says:
“Everyone loves The Wurzels, and everyone loves food, so what could be better than putting the two together for a Summer Sunday full of fun”.
Tommy Banner adds:
“We played at the legendary Isle of Wight Garlic Festival eight years ago and the crowds gave us a real warm welcome, we’re sure they’ll do the same again this time. It’ll be right-old knees up”.
This year’s Garlic Festival takes place on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th August 2018. Tickets go on sale in the Spring priced at £10 for Adults and £5 for children. A family 2 + 2 ticket is £27.50.
