What do West End stars do on their Sunday off? Well in the case of Earl Carpenter, who has played Javert in Les Miserables around 2,000 times, he is coming back to his beloved Isle of Wight to perform his new one-man show.
‘A Touch of West End’ will be performed at Yarmouth’s Off The Rails restaurant on Sunday 8th September.
Earl, who also played the part of the Phantom in Phantom of the Opera over 1,500 times, loves any excuse to come back to the Island. Many years ago his aunt and uncle owned a bakery and a confectionary shop in both Totland and Freshwater. For 6 years he also had a flat in Ryde.
The West End star is currently in ‘Les Miserables – All Star Staged Concert 2019’ at the Gielgud Theatre in London, which stars Michael Ball, Alfie Boe and Matt Lucas. This runs until November.
In his one-man show, Earl will be accompanied by international cellist Yvonne Marie Parsons. There will be anecdotes from his theatre career and he will sing some of the songs from the numerous hit shows he’s appeared in.
