Residents on the Isle of Wight are being warned to be aware of cold callers.
The Isle of Wight Council’s trading standards department has received reports of doorstep callers offering tarmac work.
A council spokesperson said:
“Trading standards and Hampshire Police are warning local residents and businesses to be on their guard of doorstep callers.
“This follows calls received this week that traders are on the Island cold calling, offering to carry out tarmac work.
“Trading standards advice is never to buy goods and/or services at the door”.
