According to recent research from holiday park operator Away Resorts, The Needles is the most Instagrammable location on the Isle of Wight, more so than any other attraction on the Island.
The 30-metre-high stacks of chalk on the Island’s most westerly point have been tagged a staggering 23,873 times – a whopping 17,100 times more than the second most hashtagged location.
Blackgang Chine came in as the second most Instagrammed attraction followed by Carisbrooke Castle in third.
Even though Newport is the capital of the Isle of Wight, Ryde has the most Instagrammed places in the top 20, suggesting this seaside town is a favourite amongst tourists looking for the perfect social media snap.
Away Resorts, who operate a holiday park at Whitecliff Bay in Bembridge, said:
“The Isle of Wight is a unique location off of the mainland and we have seen the popularity of our holiday park grow each year.
“Visitors often ask for advice on where to go during their break and a large proportion of our employees at Whitecliff Bay are island residents, so have a lot of local knowledge”.
