Adults at The Way Forward Programme are to take to the stage when they deliver a performance of their show ‘The Journey to the Lamp’ at Medina Theatre this December.
The Way Forward Programme is a day centre based in Newport that supports adults with additional needs, with the aim to better their day-to-day life skills, social skills and creativity.
Twice a year they put on a magnificent, show-stopping performance, for their friends and family. The 30+ performing arts cast rehearse for 6 months towards their summer and Christmas extravaganzas and work hard to put on a show for the whole community.
Francesca Maretic from The Way Forward Programme has said:
“We can’t express what it would mean to our customers if we had a full house on the night of the show, they work so hard for 6 months to put on these shows twice a year and the more audience members we have the more they thrive off the performance.
“It also means that all the money raised from ticket sales can go towards the next show as well as to be used for the other groups and sessions in the centre such as art groups, bowling groups and big days out to places such as Paultons Park.”
The Journey to the Lamp is to be performed live from Medina Theatre from 18:45 on Wednesday 6th December. More information can be found on The Way Forward Programme website.
Tickets can now be purchased via the Medina Theatre website or by calling the Box Office on 01983 823 884.
