Bump Express, the Isle of Wight’s leading cosmetic repair centre and CNC Coatings, alloy wheel repair and powder coatings specialists have made a further significant investment into their Professional Car Care Studio on Lake Industrial Estate, with help from the Isle of Wight Lottery.
The lottery loan has enabled the 2 businesses to expand and keep pace with demand for their services from car owners and the motor trade across the Island.
The investment of over £35,000 sees the installation of new state-of-the oven, overhead rail system and HSE compatible water wash spray booth. Custom-built for the company and configured for powder coating and curing of alloy wheels, in addition to the powder coating and refinishing of other car and bike parts including rocker covers and frames.
Importantly, the system has the flexibility to include architectural, manufactured components and marine parts such as railings, technical components, marine portholes and more.
This latest investment follows on-going investment by John Nightingale who started the company in 2010. Adding to their already impressive array of specialist equipment reflected in the island’s only CNC Diamond Cut Lathe to repair Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels and Wheel Straightening Machine enabling 99% of all repairs to be done “in-house”. This further reflects their commitment to provide the Island’s car owners and associated services with the very best repair and refinishing services.
“The demand for our services has doubled over recent years and this latest equipment will transform the business, enabling us to significantly reduce process times for our powder coating service and enable us to access other markets such as marine, architectural and manufacturing.”
This latest investment ensures that car owners and the motor trade are able to have most types of wheels repaired to OE manufacturers specifications on the Island, rather than put up with curb damaged and scuffed wheels or go to the time and expense of sending wheels to the mainland for repair and refurbishment.
It’s not surprising that with an estimated 72,500 cars on the Island that Bump Express have been busy since opening their professional car Care Studio on Lake Industrial Estate (opposite Morrisons).
