As previously reported by Island Echo, Southern Water representatives are visiting Island homes, schools and small businesses during October to fit free water-saving products such as tap fittings, shower heads and toilet dual-flushers, which could potentially cut water use by around 20%.
Some people will be contacted and offered a visit, however, any customer with a meter can get in touch with Southern Water to request one.
Mr Turner said:
“This is a sensible initiative by Southern Water as many people may be using more water than they need without realising it. As well as saving water this is an opportunity to save some money on water bills so I would urge anyone interested to get in touch with Southern Water to ask for a free visit.”
