UPDATED: A 68-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grooming offences after turning up to meet who he allegedly thought was a 13-year-old boy for sexual relations.
The suspect, from Sandown, arrived at Battery Gardens at the top of Lake Hill on 18th January where he was confronted by a member of WightRangers.
Hampshire Constabulary questioned the man at Newport Police Station but he has since been released without charge, however remains under investigation.
WightRangers have teamed up with SKID Community to continue identifying those potentially committing offences, passing on their details to Police in a bid to ‘clean up the Island’ – and now the South Coast.
