Ryde Rotary Club will be collecting donations for local community groups this weekend, as the town marks the start of its Christmas celebrations.
Volunteers will be at the Co-Operative store in Anglesea Street on both Saturday and Sunday to raise funds for The Foyer, Aspire, Open Arms and the South Centre.
This Saturday marks the start of Christmas with entertainment around Ryde town. Visitors can expect to see seasonal buskers and flash mob dancers during the day ahead of the magical Lantern Parade from 18:30.
The town’s Christmas lights will be switched on by Mr Eddie Minghella in Minghella Square at 16:30.
As part of Small Business Saturdya free parking is available in long stay car parks between 12:00-18:00.
